In Los Angeles, you cannot:
Use water to wash any hard surfaces such as sidewalks, walkways, driveways or parking areas, unless flushing is needed to protect health and safety; Use water to clean, fill or maintain decorative fountains unless the water is part of a recirculating system; Serve water to customers in eating establishments unless requested; Permit leaks from any pipe or fixture to go unrepaired; Allow for the washing of a vehicle without using a hose with a self-closing, shut-off device; Permit watering during periods of rain; Irrigate landscaping between the hours of 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.; Water outdoors for more than 15 minutes per watering station, 10 minutes for other irrigation systems; Allow runoff onto streets and gutters from excessive watering; Install single-pass cooling systems in new buildings; Install non-recirculating systems in new car wash and commercial laundry systems; Permit large landscape areas to water without rain sensors that shut off irrigation systems; and You should: Inform hotels and motel guests of the option to reuse towels; Allow for exemptions for using gray water.

FLOWER POTS & CONTAINERS SUPER WATER GEL CRYSTALS 1 Ounce or 3 Tablespoons of SUPER WATER GEL CRYSTALS into 1 gallon of water. Let the crystals swell for 3 to 4 hours. For faster response, use hot water. Drain any excess water. Super Water Gel is UV sensitive and will start to break down if put on top of garden or pot plants and loose its effectiveness if on top. Super Water Gel works best at the roots of the plants.This allows the roots to tap into the Super Water Gel and draw water when needed. Mix well with soil.
LAWNS TREES AND SHRUBS Dig a hole at least three times the size of the container and incorporated dry crystals throughout the area. After planting, create a dam around the tree or if on a slope leave the top side open to collect water thus allowing a water reservoir to be readily absorbed by polymer crystals
VEGETABLES & FLOWER BEDS Use SUPER WATER GEL MEDIUM dry crystals. Use 4 pounds of the dry crystals per 100 square feet at a 4 - 6 inches of depth cultivation. Use less for drier plants and more for moisture loving plants. After planting, a good coat of mulch will dress up the bed and cover any loose polymer crystal gel, thus giving a finished look and protecting the polymer crystal gel from premature degradation by sunlight.
SODDING & GRASS Use SUPER WATER GEL MEDIUM dry crystals. For application before sodding or planting grass, use 3-4 pounds per 1,000 square feet, tilled 1- 2 inches deep or 5 pounds tilled 4 to 6 inches deep. Application can be either by hand or a lawn spreader. Never use more than 5 pounds per 1,000 square tilled only one inch as prolonged sponginess may occur. After the first rain hydrated polymer may appear and the sod may seem loose, however the exposed polymer will dissolve and after the roots grow from the sod the looseness will dissipate.
